When selecting a steam trap, you should not simply choose from the maximum emissions. Special care should be taken: Never use a steam trap only according to the size of the pipe. It must be selected according to the principle of steam trap selection and the specific conditions of the condensate system. Under normal circumstances, it should be selected in the following three aspects.


1. First, determine the type of steam trap based on the heating equipment and the requirements for draining the condensate.
For the heating equipment with the fastest heating speed and strict heating temperature control, it is necessary to keep the condensed water in the heating equipment. If there is water, it is necessary to select the mechanical type steam trap that can discharge the saturated water. . Because it is a steam trap with water, it can eliminate the bad consequences caused by water in the equipment in time, and quickly improve and ensure the heating efficiency required by the equipment.


For heating equipment with large heating surface and less control on heating speed and heating temperature, water accumulation can be allowed, such as steam heating and hydrophobic, and the process heating line is hydrophobic. A thermostatic type steam trap should be used as the best.


For medium and low pressure steam transmission pipelines, the condensed water generated in the pipeline must be completely and quickly eliminated, otherwise it will easily cause a water hammer accident. The water content in the steam is increased, so that the temperature of the steam is lowered, and the process requirements of the steam equipment cannot be met. Therefore, it is best to use a mechanical type steam trap for the medium and low pressure steam conveying pipe.
